GEMCO Sales & Service are proud to announce the completion of a new state-of-the-art LCV after-sales centre for Mercedes-Benz of Taunton. After just eight months of construction, the new premises will officially open its doors on 4th June 2018.
This new LCV hub can be found on the outskirts of Taunton’s Crown Industrial Estate and is located just 250m away from the existing Mercedes-Benz Toneway dealership. It is the final of the four Mercedes-Benz South West dealerships to boast its own specialist van centre, following the opening of similar premises in Hill Barton, Exeter, earlier this year.
The site marks an impressive advancement in the retailer’s LCV after-sales facilities: the new team will have six LCV ramps capable of lifting up to 6.5 tonnes at their disposal, plus a dedicated MOT lane for class 4, 5 and 7 MOT tests. It will also create additional space and resources for the retail side of the business, which will remain at its current location.
Martin Green, General Manager at Mercedes-Benz of Taunton, said, “The opening of our new light commercial vehicle (LCV) centre allows us to give our current and new LCV customers the experience they deserve with regard to space and equipment to carry out servicing, repairs and MOT’s to their vehicles.
It will enable us to expand our trained LCV focused staff to offer quicker turnaround times, with a larger parts store specifically aimed at supporting the LCV workshop.
The final benefit comes to our Mercedes Benz passenger car customers who will see more space at our existing site on Toneway, Taunton.”
The £1,000,000 investment is an exciting addition to a growing local industry and offers a host of career opportunities for those looking to join the prestigious Mercedes-Benz brand.
Having already undertaken a recruitment drive at the beginning of this year, a further ten employment opportunities will become available with Mercedes-Benz of Taunton once the centre is open. And more are expected to follow as the enterprise expands.
